M3 series servo motors are a new range of motors available in power range from 100W to 2kW and rated torque from 0.32Nm to 11.5Nm. Compared to the older M2 series motors, they feature smaller dimensions, lower inertia and 20% lower holding torque.
They are produced with four types of feedback: 17-bit magnetic incremental encoder, 20-bit optical incremental encoder, 17-bit multi-turn absolute encoder without battery backup, and 20-bit multi-turn absolute encoder with battery backup. Low, medium and high rotor inertia versions are available, allowing for even better drive matching to the application.
The motors are equipped with environmental-resistant (IP65) connectors and better EMC protection. Customers can choose from a wide selection of dedicated encoder and power cables with lengths from 1m to 20m in standard or flexible versions (for cable carriers).

Available versions of AKM servomotors with 24VDC brake
Plug-and-play connection of AKM servomotors with AKD servodrives - automatic loading of the electronic nameplate of the motor. In most cases, this eliminates the need for parameterization and tuning of the servodrive.

Washdown – Kollmorgen AKM servo motors:
AKM servo motors in special Washdown and Washdown Food versions with special paints adapted for frequent washing and contact with food – an alternative to stainless steel motors. Execution with stainless steel shafts.
An increase (of approximately 20%) in torque density to achieve even higher torque or reduce the size of the motor.

Rated torque from 0.064 Nm to 72Nm.
A wide selection of windings for voltages from 120VAC to 480VAC for operation with different speed/torque characteristics.
Various feedback options for matching application requirements and servo amplifier selection: SFD3, Hiperface DSL, ENDAT 2.2, Resolver, other available on request.
