Special versions of stepper motors
Among the many drives of the Moons manufacturer, you can find unusual solutions. Market demand forced the manufacturer to introduce Moons stepper motors, specially designed for applications where a standard drive cannot be used. Among them, you can find solutions for applications in vacuum, with an increased degree of protection IP67, for applications in high and low temperatures (from -80 ° C to 204 ° C) or anti-corrosion.

In order to cope with the most difficult conditions, the manufacturer had to adapt the production process in such a way that the drives would not corrode.
The main problem with the standard drives at the time was the rapid corrosion process. For this reason, the knowledge of motorers was used and the motor production process was adapted to meet the highest customer requirements.
Quality verification was carried out through the salt spray test: MIL-STD-202G
in which the standard conventional motor, after 96 hours of operation in the conditions consistent with the test, was not suitable for operation.
The photo below shows a motor that complies with the B standard (48 hours).
In the case of the Moon's motor, things look much better. The use of engineer's knowledge and available technology allowed the motor, after 240 hours of operation in the salt spray test, to maintain its operating parameters and show no signs of corrosion.
