Solutions for the municipal and water-sewage industry

The municipal and water-sewage industries are not identical, they concern different things, but we can find several similarities or overlaps – primarily very difficult working conditions. If it’s a municipal salt spreader where a DC motor with a gearmotor is responsible for the spreader/doser operation, we can expect high humidity and an aggressive environment, so the drive we provide must be extremely resistant to these conditions. On the other hand, if it’s a sewage treatment plant or a landfill with a conveyor belt system and automatic waste sorting, we can immediately assume that moisture, dirt, dust, or corrosive substances will constantly accompany the motor, gearbox, or other components we supply.

Guided by this knowledge and the experience gained over many years of work, we select solutions that can meet the challenges prevalent in the municipal and water-sewage industries:

• our AC motors come standard with IP55 protection, which can be higher (IP65, IP56, IP66, IP69),
• gearmotors are extremely robust – massive housings provide exceptional resistance to external factors,
• machine parts such as roller chains can be supplied in stainless steel or with special lubrication,
• trapezoidal screws working independently – or as part of a complete screw jack assembly supplied by us – can also be stainless or protected with special tubes and protective bellows,
• expansion clamping bushes also available in stainless steel,
• stainless steel gas springs,
• jaw couplings made of cast iron or aluminum.

The range of applications for which we have solutions, technologies, or just products is extensive. It starts with municipal equipment, where DC drives are used in sand spreaders, salt spreaders, or sweepers. It also includes smaller and larger drive units (motors up to 315kW, gearmotors up to 55kW) for the water-sewage segment.
